NanajackTM Rear-Mounting Banana Jack (Beta Version)
Nanajacks are designed to be soldered to PCBs and mounted to panels from the rear-- and they are sized to locate the panel at the defacto standard 10mm height consistent with other components- pots, switches, other jacks etc. Panels are tightened to the pcb assembly with the removable nuts color-matched to the barrels. Nanajacks can be soldered to the PCB before the panel is installed, making panel assembly, removal and troubleshooting much easier than the traditional banana jack. They can also be used as substitutes for traditional banana jacks since they retain the solder lug. Nanajack barrels and nuts are made of nylon and the inserts are CNC-machined with bright tin plating. Ten colors are available and we expect to add a 'clear' for that special LED-illumination look.
This is the BETA version of the Nanajack. Final rpduction versions will vary from the beta in the following ways: Color and finish will match existing banana jack more closely; Mold flash extant on beta jacks will be removed/cleaned; Barrel diameter will be reduced and metal insert knurled in order to tighten the fit. Metal inserts are not intended to rotate inside the barrel.
